Simple Requirements

Completion requirement

In addition to Faculty of Graduate Studies requirements, the Faculty of Science requires students to complete:

Complete ANY of the following Courses:
  • 1652481
    OR
    1652461

*Normally, students will be required to complete ISEC691. However, with the permission of the Program Director, students may complete ISEC681 instead.

Students must seek approval from the Academic Coordinator to withdraw from, or drop, courses.

Registration in courses extra-to-program requires approval from the Program Director.

Completion requirement

Advanced Credit

Advanced Credit will not normally be given for the MISP program.


Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade)

The Information Security Professional Program will allow students to pursue the Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade).

The use of the CG grade will not affect students' eligibility for internal awards.


Credit for Undergraduate Courses

Credit will not normally be granted for undergraduate courses.


Time Limit

Expected completion time for the Master of Information Security and Privacy in the laddered pathway is four months. The maximum completion time is two years from the start of the program.

Part-time registration can delay program progression and completion as not all courses are offered in each semester.

Completion requirement

The Information Security and Privacy program does not provide scholarships; however financial assistance may be available to eligible students through alternative sources. For information on awards, see the Awards and Financial Assistance section.
