Simple Requirements

Completion requirement

In addition to Faculty of Graduate Studies requirements, the Faculty of Science requires students to complete 12 units of coursework.

Students must register in the following four courses:

Enroll in the following Course Lists:

Students must seek approval from the Academic Coordinator to withdraw from, or drop, courses.

Registration in courses extra-to-program requires approval from the Program Director.

Completion requirement

Advanced Credit

Advanced Credit will not normally be given for any of the Quantum Computing credentials.


Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade)

The Graduate programs in Quantum Computing will permit the Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade) for any course offered by the program.

The use of the CG grade may affect students' eligibility for internal awards.


Credit for Undergraduate Courses

Credit will not be granted for undergraduate courses.


Time Limit

The expected completion time for the Graduate Diploma in Quantum Computing is four months. The maximum completion time for the Diploma is two years from the start of the program.

Part-time registration can delay program progression and completion as not all courses are offered in each semester.

Completion requirement

Students enrolled in any of the Quantum Computing Graduate Credentials are not eligible for University of Calgary awards administered through the Graduate Awards Competition but may be eligible for program recommended awards.
