Simple Requirements

Completion requirement

In addition to the Faculty of Graduate Studies' requirements, the Faculty of Nursing requires, at minimum:

Complete ALL of the following Courses:
  • 1652411
    AND
    1652421
    AND
    1309201
  • 1652431
    OR
    1658111

(Students enrol in course above if course (Cultivating Personal Leadership I) was not completed during the Advanced Nursing Practice I or II Graduate Certificates).

Completion requirement

Advanced Credit

Applicants must include requests for Advanced Credit, accompanied by a rationale, when they apply for admission. For courses taken outside the University of Calgary, applicants must provide official transcripts and a copy of the course outline detailing the course description, objectives, assignments, readings, etc.


Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade)

The Faculty of Nursing will not permit the Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade) for any course offered by the Faculty.

Students may choose the CG grade in a course taken extra-to-load.

The use of the CG grade will not affect students' ability for internal awards.


Time Limit

Expected completion time in the Master of Nursing course-based program is one year. Maximum completion time is two years.


Supervisory Assignments

No supervisor will be assigned.
